"CORRECTING THE SEQUENTIAL ORDERING PROBLEM IN WRITING OF CLASS-8 STUDENTS"


STATEMENT:
Most of the students are unable to write in sequential order of any concept.
JUSTIFICATION:
While writing a story or a title which is given, the students are unable to co-ordinate with the concept. They lack in linking the concepts.
RESEARCH QUESTIONS:
1. How can we find the problem in sequential ordering in writing from students?
2. Whether the students are able to sequence the ideas by order?
3. In which part students lack in writing sequential order?
4. What are the suggestions to improve writing sequentially with the concept?
5. Whether the students are able to write in sequential order after receiving the suggestions?
I began to search answers for my research questions. I planned to conduct a pretest to my class 8 students. I designed a worksheet for sequential writing and sent to my students through whatsapp.
I collected my students answers through the same.

Interpretation from 10 of my students:
* 2 compiled the passage with proper sequence and meaning.
* 4 students compiled with meaning but without sequence.
* 2 students understood the meaning but they can't express the passage with sequence.
* 2 students couldn't understand the meaning of the passage too.
Now I can find the problems faced by the students on writing by sequence.
I want to rectify this problem. So I utilized my peer group teachers support. So I prepared a questionnaire regarding this topic and I received responses from my colleagues.

Many of my colleagues and peer teachers responded to my survey and with their answers I analysed the survey results which is represented here as follows.
TEXTUAL DATA ANALYSIS:
From the all responses I gathered through survey, I can understand the abilities and obstacles of each child in the field of writing. And also I have got various suggestions and useful strategies from my peer group teachers. Almost the difficulties faced by teachers while teaching sequential writing is the lack of coherence and lack of clarity in content. So, I planned my remedial measures and necessary actions on this basis.

ACTION PLAN:
Here are few steps to develop writing skill and to facilitate sequential writing in English:
Freewriting: Often the hardest part of writing is getting started.Freewriting is writing without concern for correctness or quality. It’s writing without worrying about grammar, spelling or punctuation. It is an attempt to unleash your creativity without interference from the more conscientious quality-control center of your brain. The purpose is to get your ideas out of your head and onto the paper or computer screen where they belong.
Clustering: Clustering goes by many names: webbing, mind-mapping, bubbling, diagraming. Begin by placing a topic in the center of the page and drawing a circle around it. Then, as related words, phrases, and ideas come to mind, write them, circle them, and connect them to the circles that enclose related ideas.
Outlining: The painstaking organization of thought required in outlining intimidates and discourages many writers. But students who diligently outline their ideas, even roughly, before starting a first draft almost always find the actual writing a much easier task.
These 3 pre-writing strategies will help our children to begin and express their views and ideas on various content.
When children began to write and express their views, its time for practising coherence writing.

© I will give some game activities and activity based language tasks to develop active participation of my students.
© I will give story creation practise as a teamwork and make students to involve themselves without any hesitation.
© I wouldn't correct each and every mistake of my students because it will de motivate them on their way of creative writing.
© I also concentrate on grammatical usage and punctuation skills for keen writing.
Each trait of writing is intensified slightly. For example, with literary analysis, I ask my enriched students to analyze themes across multiple short stories instead of just one. This instance would relate to the trait of ideas.
My struggling writers cover the same concepts, but I don’t expect them to implement them all skillfully at the end of the research. The main goals are to be able to write a well-organized paragraph with logical meaning, to write fluid sentences, and to cite research correctly.
Sequence writing is not easy. It takes many trial and error to find a method that works. Even when we do, a new group of students presents fresh challenges, and tweaking is necessary. Hopefully this outline will provide me with insight and guidance as I design writing curriculum for my own students. If you have points that can help in this research please comment below.
